B4UW 2024 T-Bay to TO Details
When will the ride occur? Window for ride September 6th-15th, 2024
B4UW cyclists and volunteers plan and coordinate the rides themselves: riders are part of the planning and coordination of the ride; each rider fundraises for local United Way chapters; riders plan fundraising events before and during the ride; communications / promotional material is circulated within the OPS, and by external partners and local media.
B4UW Food & Accommodations by Planning Committee, Riders and Volunteers: organizing meals, snacks, and water; accommodations (camping, often at Ontario Parks and roofed accommodation options are being explored).
B4UW Planning Committee Transport & Logistics: looking into options for getting riders bikes and gear from Toronto to Thunder Bay.
B4UW Planning Support includes: internal & external website, jerseys(ordered in early March), posting rider profiles, coordination with OPS UW lead, fundraising website to manage donations
B4UW Organizer Committee and Safety: Route planning, safety procedures, nutrition/meal/hydration, first aid equipment, mechanical and rider support, including support vehicle(s).
B4UW can assist regional and local United Way to arrange events. This will be an enjoyable ride of comradery, healthy activity, beautiful scenery and lasting memories.
B4UW cyclists take vacation days to participate in the ride.
