Manitoulin Island Tour
September 10 – 12, 2021
Day 1 (in red): Little Current Arena to Lake Wosley Objewung Tent and Trailer Park via Hwy 540 along the north half of the island (87km)
Day 2 (in blue): Campsite to Meldrum Bay and back (114km)
Day 3 (in green): Campsite to Mindemoya following the more southerly Hwy 551, then cross over the Niagara Escapement to Sheguiandah returning to Little Current (86km)
Total: 287 km
Highlights: Bridal Veil Falls (Kagawong), Gore Bay refreshment stop overlooking the bay, Meldrum Bay (western-most community on the island), fellow OPSer hosting a fish fry on the beach for Saturday night’s dinner, Mum’s Bakery in Mindemoya, lots of hilly terrain over the escarpment, friendship and comradery, wonderful quiet scenery, forecast for warm dry weather.

Day 1:
133 km route with shorter loop options; starting/ending at East Shores Cottages with stops in Picton, Waupoos and Little Bluff conservation area. Click here for GPS.

115 km route with shorter loop options; starting/ending at Roblin Lake Park in the hamlet of Ameliasburgh we ride past a number of PEC wineries and cideries with stops at Campbell’s Orchards, Wellington and Big Island. Click here for GPS.

September 11 – 12 Day 1 – Start at Mountain Road / Highway 26 by Craigleith – “Blue Mountain Road.” Short course is 53K along the Georgian Trail to Meaford and back. Long course if 85K loop course.
