Why we ride
Ride something EPIC!
Every year riders from previous years have challenged each other to plan an ‘epic ride’ that motivates others. The first B4UW from Thunder Bay to Toronto, a 10-day, 1400km ride, was truly epic in any sense of the word. That ride, which tried to stretch any idea of what is possible on a bicycle in Ontario, created a movement of cyclists planning charity rides that got them riding all across Ontario.
What is an ‘epic ride’ obviously differs for everyone. Over the years we’ve also learned that many Ontario Public Servants want to challenge themselves on a bicycle, and give back to local communities. This intrepid group wants more. We want to ride a bike a long way across a scenic horizon and challenge ourselves by doing it. We want to make connections with local towns and rural Ontario, via the roads less traveled. We want to give back to our communities, raising money for local charities.
Below are a few photos that capture why we ride.
